TRA participates in Emirates Group IT Security Awareness Road Shows.

Abu Dhabi, March 20th, 2011 (WAM) -- The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), represented by the Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT), has participated in Emirates Group IT Security Awareness Road Shows. The road shows conducted over several days targeting various departments of Emirates Group Staff.

The road shows included presentations about latest security threats and security best practices that should be followed while using various IT formats such as email, social networking websites, mobile phones, etc. Multiple discussion groups with Emirates staff held to give them a comprehensive information background on data protection.

"TRA is eager to spread IT security among all segments in the country. The UAE Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT) participated previously with Emirates Group to conduct IT security workshops and we believe that the future will witness more cooperation in this regard," said Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General.

"The growing complexity of IT systems and their security has created multiple challenges for enterprises and employees across the region. Concerned entities and government bodies must address a number of security issues to enhance IT performance and to update their employees with the latest tools and behaviors that can protect them from internet threats," added Al Ghanim.
