MINISTER SAYS 60,000 DOMAIN NAMES REGISTERED IN KAZAKHSTAN.

ASTANA, Jan 12 Asia Pulse - Kazakhstan's internet sector has registered 60,000 domain names thus far, the Minister of Communications and Information Askar Zhumagaliyev said at the session of the Department on January 10.

"In 2010 daily visits to Kazakhstan sites reached 12.3 million hits. The volume of advertising revenues in KazNet rose to US$6 million. we understand, the we have great potential, because all conditions are created," Zhumagaliyev said.

According to him, it is expected that the volume of advertising revenues in onternet will increase by 20 per cent.

As the Minister informed, a number of domain names registered has reached 60,000.

Zhumagaliyev said that further work will be directed to development of electronic commerce.
