LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 1997--ADTRAN, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTN) introduced today ADVISION, a seamless solution for monitoring and configuring ADTRAN WAN products from a single workstation. The announcement was made at the Networld+Interop tradeshow held in Las Vegas this week. (Booth 1141)
ADVISION is ADTRAN's Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) software, providing access to an entire network of various ADTRAN products featuring SNMP support. SNMP is a recognized industry standard for managing LAN and WAN environments, offering companies a way to monitor, control, and configure networks from a single workstation.
Featuring a Graphical User Interface (GUI), ADVISION offers a simple method for provisioning and monitoring ADTRAN WAN products using Hewlett Packards OpenView(R) UNIX platform. ADVISION also complies with industry standards for managing IP-addressable SNMP network devices.
ADVISION alleviates the need for on-site configuration and monitoring of remotely located ADTRAN equipment. Our WAN products are among many other pieces of networking equipment that also need to be monitored from a remote site. ADVISION works under an industry standard platform, eliminating the need for various proprietary management workstations to monitor multiple vendors' equipment, Vice President of CPE Marketing Danny Windham said.
With ADVISION, network managers can check the current status of the ADTRAN hardware, including bandwidth utilization and performance, and perform configuration and diagnostic procedures. ADVISION complements the recently introduced ESP series of ADTRAN products, featuring embedded SNMP Access.
Available 3rd quarter of 1997, ADVISION list price is $5995.
