FED: Holiday road toll remains at three

SYDNEY, Dec 20 AAP - The national Christmas-New Year road toll stands at three, after
the death of a motorcyclist in central Queensland.

Police said the man died at the scene after striking a pedestrian at high speed on
Hospital Road, Emerald, about 2.45am (AEST) on Saturday.

The pedestrian, aged in his 20s, was taken to Emerald Hospital with arm and shoulder injuries.

Two people died on the nation's roads yesterday: a woman in Alice Springs in the Northern
Territory and a man in the Victorian town of Ballarat.
